More homes for everyone
Labor YIMBY is a non-factional, non-affiliated advocacy group within the Australian Labor Party. We are building the political will for abundant housing, fighting to make housing a core Labor priority at every level of government.
Why Labor must lead on housing
The housing crisis is the defining economic challenge of our generation. Labor YIMBY exists to ensure our party has the courage and conviction to solve it.
Supply Reform
Push for zoning reform, density near transit, and streamlined approval so we can build homes at the speed and scale needed.
Density & Design
Champion well-designed medium-density housing, end single-family zoning, and build complete neighbourhoods with shops and transport within walking distance.
Fiscal Reform
Reform stamp duty, land tax, and developer charges so the tax system incentivises the construction of new housing.
What we stand for
Abundance over scarcity
We reject the false choice between protecting neighbourhood character and housing people. We can and must build more.
Labor values in action
Housing is a social good. We ground our advocacy in the Labor tradition of collective action, public investment, and worker power.
Evidence-led policy
We follow the economics and the data. Restrictive zoning and supply constraints are the root cause of unaffordability.
From the grassroots up
We build power at the local level, organising members and branches to make housing abundance a grassroots Labor priority.
